1st Christmas 2005

I had a great 1st Christmas! Santa came to see me and my friends and family showered me with gifts. I even had a hardback book made for me that is a story of my name! It is so cool! Thanks GoGo and PaPaw! My Aunt Mandy and Uncle Ben came all the way from Arlington, Va to spen the weekend with me! We went hiking and for a sleigh ride up in Allenspark. Aunt Mo and Uncle Steve came for Christmas dinner and I had my usual spirit, milk! Lots of fun filled memories. I love Christmas! Enjoy my photos from the big day!

Lucette 2 months old

Well I am developing a great personality! I started laughing, cooing and my mommy swears I said ‘HI” the other day. My Aunt Emily came to visit me and she babysat me while my mommy and daddy went on a date! I continue to love music and I grab my toys on my activity center and push them back and forth. I have trouble paying attention through a full book, but my mommy and daddy still try to read to me. I recently discovered my dog and I think she is funny. I lose interest fast but that is ok! I love to look at myself in the mirror and I am terrific at tummy time! I can hold my head up on tummy time and I have a lot of control when I am being held. I went to my first Christmas party the other day! It tuckered me out and I fell asleep in 10 minutes. I had my two month shots and it was really hard for me and my mommy. I was a champ and I made it through the tough day. Daddy took off work and helped comfort me. I weighed 11 lbs. 4 oz. and I am 23 inches tall. My head has grown and I seem to be more like a 3 month old in my developmental milestones. It has been really cold here in Boulder so our daily walks outside have stopped. I now love to have my diaper changed, but getting dressed bums me out. My mommy is getting more and more comfortable taking me on outings and we try to go out everyday. On Friday nights I go to the climbing gym and watch my mommy and daddy climb. I am becoming a better sleeper as the days progress. Last night I slept 7 hours and my mommy and daddy were so proud! I am talking all the time in my own language and mommy loves to sing Christmas carols. I love our Christmas tree and mommy bought me a psychedelic snowman that sparkles! My friend Lauren Mckenzie (her mommy and my mommy were in prenatal swim class together) went to see Santa. He was a little scary and it happened to be pet day! Well I am starting mommy and baby yoga this week and a music class. My daddy keeps telling me Santa is coming on the 25th! I’m excited!!!!! I’ll chat with you’all next month!

My First Month in the world

1 Month Old


I realize that my extended family lives far far away and I want to keep them updated on my adventures and what I am learning and doing. My mommy is not much of a writer, but she will try hard to capture all my thoughts. I had my 1 month check up and I weighed 9 lbs. 8 oz. and I grew 1 inch! I am in the 50% for size right now. I have had lots of visitors and nice climbing friends and neighbors bringing meals for the last month. My GOGO and Nettie prepared lots of freezer meals for all of us. In one week we had four types of chili and my mommy and daddy thank all of you for the 40 diapers we went through in 4 days! I have enjoyed my bath time- it really puts a smile on my face and I kick and move my arms for lots of good exercise. This month we started tummy time and I am able to lift my head for a second or two (must be my genes), but then I get tired and want to turn back around. I love to eat and recently I am staying more awake during feeding time. My daddy feeds me breast milk in a bottle at night and we have several bonding moments. He calls me the drunk monkey. I eat and eat and then milk pours out the sides of my mouth and I give a cockeyed smile to let him know I am satisfied. I don’t really like my diaper to be changed, but I think it is really funny when mommy and daddy take it off--clean me and then I decide to go some more. The other day I went to the bathroom and it squirted at least three feet all over mommy and daddy. We all laughed and mommy did more laundry. I still sleep 80% of my time during the day and night, but I have moments where I smile and coo and look around. My mommy and I go hiking everyday with my dog Raven who recently is showing some interest in me especially when I cry. I enjoy my activity center that great grandma gave me, and I have grabbed my red bird and pushed him in the air. My mommy and I listen to music and sing along to all the classic children’s songs. My daddy makes up songs and they are really funny. My GoGo and Aunt Mandy call everyday to check on me and spread their love. I like to listen to their messages and I become alert when I hear them on the machine. Thanks to all my visitors and I look forward to updating you’ all more next month. Enjoy my pictures!
